Introduction
This project aims to develop a series of route improvements on the A41 to help make travelling, living, working and shopping along the Warwick Road route easier and more enjoyable.
Although the key focus is on different modes of transport including public transport, walking and cycling, there is also the opportunity for improvements to be made to the local areas too.
So far, this project has looked at the route in detail and talked to the local community to better understand the needs of all users who live, work and travel along the route. This has helped us to identify the main opportunities and issues that exist along the route and in the local area. Your views have been used to update the route plans, which are now available on the ‘Key Findings’ page.
What Is The Next Stage?
The short section of bus lane in Acocks Green has already been removed following comments received from local people.
We are now planning a first phase of measures on the section of Warwick Road between Percy Road and Stockfield Road in early 2011, to tie in with planned resurfacing work on this part of the route. Residents and businesses in this area are being consulted in September / October 2010 and the plans can be viewed on the Phase One Proposals page.
