What has been done so far?
We are currently at the end of Stage 1 of the project which aims to:
- Identify the issues and opportunities, and
- Develop an overall Route Strategy for Warwick Road.
In the last few months we have gathered opinions from people who use and live along the Warwick Road. We have consulted local residents, businesses, shoppers, schools; Councillors, commuters, and others who use the route and the area to ensure that everyone is included. We now have identified what you think is important to you when travelling on the road and living, working and shopping along it.
Following this we have brought together everyone’s views, which have helped us identify where and what the real issues and opportunities are along the Warwick Road. These have been summarised and are now available as route plans for you to view on this website.
We are currently finalising a strategy for A41 Warwick Road, using the issues and opportunities as gathered from you. The strategy once developed will be on the website for you to view. Please check again later for an update.
What next?
We are now moving onto Stage 2 where we will develop ideas for improvement, and will come back to ask people what they think about them. We have already removed a section of bus lane in Acocks Green as a result of comments received from local people.
A first phase of measures is now being planned for early 2011 in the section of Warwick Road between Percy Road and Stockfield Road. More details can be found on the Phase One Proposals page.
